Christian Community Action

Our retail sites are action and support centres because unlike many other charity shops they not only provide affordable clothing, household goods and bric-a-brac for people facing hardship.  They are also venues for us to build relationships with the local community, and where people can come for a cup of tea, a chat  and a listening ear. We provide a listening ear, a cuppa and a chat, food parcels, access to all of our support services and signposting to specialist agencies.

Each shop offers support facilities to order furniture items and to get information on other sources of help within the Reading Community.  In addition  our Oxford Road Shop has a dedicated Support Centre where clients can receive: support, assessment for essential furniture items, bedding and kitchen packs, emergency food supplies, signposting and referral to another specialist service if necessary.
